The Conversation That Starts Everything

It begins with twenty minutes on the phone. No pressure, no pitch — just a conversation about your space, your timeline, and what's been frustrating you about your home. We listen for the things clients don't always say directly: the kitchen renovation tabled for three years, the master suite that never became a retreat.

We're also listening for fit. LNI Studios works with a small number of clients at a time, by design, and that selectivity runs both directions. The call costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

Your Project, on Paper

After the call, we document everything — your vision, your priorities, your timeline, your budget range. This brief becomes the north star for the entire project. Every preference you've expressed is in writing, shared with you, and referenced at every stage. Nothing disappears into a notebook you can't see.

The Site Assessment

Before any design work begins, we come to your home. We measure — but we're also observing. How does the light move through the space? Where does traffic actually flow? We listen to how you talk about your rooms when you're standing in them. Clients often say things during a site visit they wouldn't think to mention over the phone. That qualifier — "it works fine, I guess" — is where a great deal of design opportunity lives.

A Rough Map of Your First Thirty Days

Day 1 Discovery Call - Twenty minutes. Your project, your vision, your questions about how we work.

Days 2–5 Proposal & Agreement - Scope, process, and fee structure in writing. Formal agreement for signature once approved.

Days 6–10 Site Assessment - We visit, measure, photograph, and spend time understanding how your home functions — and where it falls short.

Days 11–20 Project Brief & Direction- Full written brief, concept direction, and preliminary mood boards for your review.

Days 21–30 Concept Presentation - Spatial logic, material palette, overall feel — presented together. This is where the project comes into focus.

Nothing is ordered, specified, or committed to without your explicit sign-off. Every material, every piece, every finish goes through a presentation first. We have strong points of view about what works. We also know this is your home, not ours.
